We fetch TTB's national permittee list every Tuesday, seal a dated copy, and tell you what changed in one state you choose. Your CSV and a dated, hash-sealed HTML copy follow within 24 hours of that fetch. The first baseline was collected 2026-08-08 and holds 84,010 permit numbers. Disappearances and arrivals are not measurable yet. Why this matters
You extend credit and ship to holders of federal basic permits. TTB is the authoritative source for whether a permit number appears on its national permittee list, and the list it serves is the current one: it does not tell you which numbers were on it last week. Comparing weeks requires dated copies of both, kept before anyone knows what will change. We keep them. Once a second dated seal exists, the weekly comparison shows which permit numbers stopped appearing in your state and which are appearing for the first time—an observation you can time-stamp, not a conclusion about any company. Our public copy carries no owner name, street address, or ZIP code.

For a credit or compliance manager at a beverage-alcohol wholesaler, the subscription covers one state or territory you choose. Each Tuesday we fetch the newest TTB list, compare it against the prior seal, and deliver a CSV of permit numbers that disappeared and appeared, plus a dated, hash-sealed HTML copy of the same list, within 24 hours of that fetch.

- The hash lets you check later that the file is unchanged.
- TTB republishes on its own rhythm, not ours. A week whose file is byte-identical to the last one is reported as unchanged at the source, never as zero changes.

Method and limits
The baseline was collected 2026-08-08 from TTB's official national permittee JSON and holds 84,010 permit numbers. Of those, 83 carry TTB's new-permit flag of 1. The projection drops owner name, street, and ZIP before the public read model. It has 52 usable state or territory codes; 6 codes were derived from the permit prefix because the source State field was invalid, and 21 rows carry a valid source state that disagrees with the permit prefix. We count those rather than hide them.
TTB's file carried a last-modified date of 2026-07-27, 12 days before we sealed it. We hold 1 dated seal, so how often TTB republishes is something we report as we observe it rather than a schedule we assert up front.
Disappearances and arrivals are not measurable yet. There is 1 dated permit-bearing seal; a zero would be false because there is no prior set to compare. A disappearance means a permit number was present in the previous TTB list and absent in the latest. It does not prove closure, revocation, insolvency, or an event date. TTB remains authoritative; this ledger records what its list showed on a given date and requires human compliance review before operational use.
