LinenBalance replays dispatch, receipt, disposal and correction rows as a double-entry movement journal, then shows the closing balance per client and SKU with every unresolved movement listed. It reconstructs state from your transactions. It does not replace your laundry system and it does not guess wash yield.

Included in this edition

A deterministic ZIP you can reopen and rerun next billing cycle: client and SKU balance sheets (accounts.csv), the unmatched-movement list (unresolved.csv), full lineage (movement-lineage.csv), opening-close.json, the policy you ran, and hashes.json for verification. Byte-identical output for identical input.

The free tool and this kit use the same engine. The kit adds the fixed-version batch runner, reusable CSV column profiles, replay receipts, tests and documentation. It does not add unsupported formats, custom integration work or a larger engine limit.

Execution limits

Python 3.12 or newer. TileMosaic also requires the versions in requirements.txt. Batch runner: at most 200 jobs per invocation, 32 MiB of original input per job and 45 seconds per engine process. Write each replay to a new output folder. Engine-specific limits still apply. Future updates and installation services are not included.

  • If an SKU has no opening balance, the absolute closing balance is reported UNKNOWN while known movement totals are still shown — it never invents a number. It does not match unequal counts, infer wash yield, or accept fractional or boolean quantities. Conflicting or malformed rows produce a clear FAIL, not a silent zero.
  • LinenBalance reconstructs counts from data you supply. We do not connect to your laundry system, we make no integration or certification claims, and we never see your data unless you send it.
  • Integer item counts only; exact account/SKU/unit keys; explicit UTC-offset timestamps.
  • Missing opening counts remain UNKNOWN. The engine cannot identify omitted transactions or physical losses.
  • Reversal references must name the exact original movement; conflicting IDs fail.
