The AI-agent incident window

Seven public searches about AI agents causing loss, read and sealed once a day since 2026-07-10.

We have sealed 29 daily reads and seen 465 distinct items. The median item was findable for 5 days and 69 of them appeared on exactly one day. Somebody running the same seven searches weekly instead of daily would never have seen 122–122 of them.
What this archive is, exactly. Once a day we run seven fixed public queries and seal what each one returned. Every one of them is recency-ranked and capped — the forum search hands back 50 items per read, the news feeds returned 5–16, the docket searches 1–16. So this is a record of what those queries showed on each date, not a catalogue of incidents. An item missing from our newest seal was pushed out of a ranking by newer items; it was not deleted by anyone, and we make no claim that it is gone from its source.

The three source families behave differently

Averaging them together produces a number that describes none of them, so they are never averaged here.

“Out of window” means the item was not in our most recent read of that query. It is a property of a recency-ranked, capped result set — not a deletion, and not a claim that the item is gone from its source.

Days we did not read. 29 seals span 30 calendar days, so these days inside the span have no sealed read: 2026-07-15. A missing day means we did not run the queries. It does not mean nothing happened, and an item that entered and left the window across one of those gaps is not in this archive at all.

The last column is age-dependent by construction: a cohort first seen four days ago has had four days to fall out of the window, and one first seen a month ago has had a month. Read down the column only alongside the week it belongs to.

These searches are ranked by recency and capped, so an item is findable for a few days and then it is not — and nobody can go back and ask what a ranking showed last Tuesday. We run all seven every day and keep the dated result. Leave your email and tell us what you are watching for; a human will send you what we hold and what a weekly read would have missed.

Compiled from dated copies of seven public search results: four CourtListener RECAP full-text searches, two Bing News RSS queries and one Hacker News (Algolia) date-sorted search. Every figure on this page is a measurement of what those queries returned to us on the dates shown. Nothing here is a claim about the completeness of any court docket, news archive or forum, and nothing here is legal advice or an underwriting opinion. No headline, case caption, post text or source link is reproduced. Verify against the underlying record before acting.
