Read this before anything else
UNKNOWN is an allowed verdict. A lot of real claims will land there, because two public sources often do not say the same word. That is the product working, not the product failing. We would rather print UNKNOWN than invent a yes or a no.
This is not a listing of a person. We do not look people up, we do not score a name, and we do not publish a dossier. You file a statement about a future outcome. The public record is that statement, its fingerprint, the named sources, and the verdict or UNKNOWN.
This is not a prediction-market board. We do not list contracts, we do not show prices, we do not hold anyone’s stake, and we do not pay anyone out on how a call lands. The fee is the same whichever way it lands. We are a scoreboard, not a bookmaker.
What a filing is
You send four things: the statement, the deadline, the rule that decides it, and at least two named public sources that will be read at that deadline. We refuse a filing that names the same source twice under different capital letters, because that would let one voice agree with itself.
- We fingerprint it at once.The fingerprint is a SHA-256 hash of the exact filed text, taken at filing time. If anyone later changes the words, the fingerprint no longer matches and the filing is refused a verdict.
- The deadline passes, then we read the named sources.A verdict appears only when every named source was read and every one said the same thing, ignoring only spacing and capital letters. A majority is not enough.
- Disagreement, or a source we cannot read, is UNKNOWN.The record still publishes exactly what each source said, or that it said nothing. We do not pick a winner.
- Anyone can read one public record for free.You pay to file. Searching every filing at once is the archive seat, quoted in the email thread, not on the rail.
A worked example from the prototypeengine on local fixtures, not a live-web read
The three rows below are public sealed records produced by the prototype on 25 Aug 2026, running on local fixture files. They are not a live read of a transit authority, a water gauge, or an observatory. The statements, fingerprints, named sources, and verdict or UNKNOWN are copied from that run without rounding.
The sample is an example from the prototype running on local fixtures. It is not a claim that we fetched those pages on the public web. A live web read is a different adapter, and it is not switched on.

What each named source saidcopied from the public record
F-0001 is the only row that received a verdict, because both sources were read and both said the same word once capital letters are ignored. F-0002 and F-0003 stayed UNKNOWN on purpose.

The deciding rule on F-0001 was: both transit authorities’ opening registers, read at the deadline. The deadline on all three was 2026-09-01T00:00:00Z. Each fingerprint was taken at filing, 2026-08-25T09:00:00Z, which is before settlement.
What we need from youemail, not a web form
There is no form on this page and nowhere to upload a file. You email the statement. A person reads it. How you pay is an email thread until a checkout link is minted; this page has no pay button yet.

- Not a live-web read on this page.The sample above is the prototype on local fixtures. A live fetch of a named source is not switched on.
- Not a guess when the sources split.UNKNOWN is the published result. We do not break the tie.
Questions we are actually asked
What if my sources disagree? You get UNKNOWN, plus exactly what each source said. That is F-0002 above.
What if one source cannot be read? You get UNKNOWN. We will not fill in the missing voice. That is F-0003 above.
Can I edit the statement after filing? If the text changes, the fingerprint no longer matches and the filing is refused a verdict. Treat what you file as final.
Do you hold the money if two people have a stake on the side? No. We never hold it and we never pay it out. If you want a referee that does not touch the stakes, that is this.
Is the filing public? Yes. One public record is free to read. The searchable full archive is the monthly seat, quoted in the thread, not on the rail.
Is UNKNOWN a cop-out? It is the honest answer when the named sources do not all say the same thing. A crisp yes from us, when the sources did not agree, would be a guess wearing a verdict’s clothes.
