New business filings in San Francisco

San Francisco records a trading name the week it starts. We read the city's file on a schedule and keep every row with the day it first reached us, so what you get is the companies that turned up since your last file — 4,750 held so far.

What this page is4,750 rows held · newest sealed read 2026-09-06

  • We hold 4,750 companies from San Francisco, each kept with the day it first reached us.
  • We have read this file on 62 days, from 26 Jun 2026 to 6 Sep 2026.
  • On 61 of those days the file gave us at least one company we did not already hold.
  • The last day a new company arrived was 6 Sep 2026, and 14 arrived that day, covering 13 different company names. 12 of those names had never appeared in this feed before. The day before that was 5 Sep 2026, so the newest comparison on this page is 5 Sep 2026 against 6 Sep 2026.
  • San Francisco publishes every registered business location. We read the rows whose trading name started inside a rolling window, and we skip the ones the city has already marked closed.
  • The last time we read it, the file returned 2,309 rows inside the window we ask for. Almost all were companies we already held, which is why a day's arrivals are a much smaller number.

Real rows out of our sealed copies

These are rows we read out of dated copies we keep ourselves. The live source shows today only, so once a row moves, what it said before is gone from the place you would go to look.

What this page cannot tell you

  • We keep each filing once, on the day we first see it. That means this page can show you what appeared. It cannot show you a company that was taken off the city's list, and it cannot show a field changing on a company we already hold.
  • This is San Francisco's own file and nothing else. It is not every company trading in the metro, and we do not claim it is. Every row on this page came from https://data.sfgov.org/resource/g8m3-pdis.json.
  • San Francisco's file never fills in what it is licensed to do, licence standing and map position, so those columns are not on this page at all. The city never published them and we will not invent them. San Francisco's file only sometimes fills these in: what the city calls the trade on 2,063 of 4,750 rows, trade code on 2,072 of 4,750 rows and postcode on 4,747 of 4,750 rows. Where a cell in the table is marked blank, that is the city's gap, not ours. Columns left off the table above because every row we are showing had them blank: what the city calls the trade.
  • Some rows are a person trading under their own name rather than a company. The city's file does not mark which, so neither do we. Every address on this page is cut back to the street: we print 957 Fell St, never the flat or unit number the city prints after it. A suite or a PMB stays, because an office is not a home. Nothing has been removed from the city's file or from our copy of it -- this is a rule about what we republish, not about what we hold. 2 rows withheld: residential address. Those 2 are counted across the 14 companies that entered our copy on 6 Sep 2026, not across the rows printed above -- the printed table is the shorter list, and you cannot subtract one number from the other. Where the name on a record is a person's own and the address beside it carries a flat or unit number, we do not publish that row at all.
  • 11 of the 73 days between 26 Jun 2026 and 6 Sep 2026 brought back no file with rows in it: 4 Jul 2026, 8 Jul 2026, 15 Jul 2026, 8 Aug 2026 and a 7-day stretch from 11 Aug 2026 to 17 Aug 2026. A business registered and struck off inside one of those gaps was never in front of us, and a quiet stretch on this page is us not looking as often as it is the city being quiet.

See the file we hold

You do not have to take our word for what is in the file. Here are 25 rows of the real thing, carrying all 7 of its columns, cut out of the dated copies we sealed ourselves. Nothing in it is made up and nothing in it is tidied up.

  • Open the 25 rows as a CSVA plain spreadsheet file. It saves to your machine rather than painting itself into a browser tab, and it opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
  • The same 25 rows as JSONThe same rows again, laid out for reading with code.

Nothing on this page is for sale. The sample file is free to read, and so is every row on the page above it.

These 25 rows are a slice of the file, not the whole of it. What we cannot show you here is how far back it goes: the file goes back further than these rows do.

No pay button on this one yet. Email operations@ustechautomations.com. We are not charging for this feed. A monthly price is a promise that a new file turns up next month, and we will not make that promise until our store can keep more than one dated copy of a filing — it records each filing once, at first sight, so it can show you that a row appeared and never that anything about it changed. The dated copies below are real and they are free to read. Name the cities you follow. We reply with how far back our copies go for each, and how many days behind that city we currently are, before you spend anything.

We hold 62 dated copies, from 26 Jun 2026 to 6 Sep 2026, and every filing carries its own filing date, which the source gives away for free. They are not evenly spread: the last dated copy carrying any Chicago row is 6 Sep 2026, and there are 42 of those. There is nothing to buy yet.
