Alcohol importers: who appeared and who dropped off the list

The TTB publishes its permit list as it stands today and overwrites the last one. We keep both copies, so you get the importer permits that appeared and the ones that dropped off, with the permit number and the town on every row. Dropping off means a permit was on one copy and not on the next. It is not proof that the business closed.

Subscribe — $99 a month$99 a month, billed monthly, for one state or territory you name — not the national file. You get every permit that appeared and every permit that stopped being listed between the copies we hold, with the permit number, the city, the state, the industry, and the business name where our copy holds one. Some rows have no business name in our copy. We print the gap rather than filling it in, because a permit number you can look up is worth more than a name we guessed. Newest sealed read: 2026-09-30. We read this source about every 7 days. We hold 10 sealed runs going back to 2026-08-08. Collection has paused. We last read this source 15 days ago, and we read it about every 7 days, so no number on this page moves until collection starts again.

What this page is215,339 rows held · newest sealed read 2026-09-30

  • Between 23 Sep 2026 and 30 Sep 2026 we detected 48 changes in this list: 19 permits appeared for the first time, 7 permits were on the 23 Sep 2026 copy and gone from the 30 Sep 2026 one, and 21 permits sat on both copies with 22 fields that moved between them. 1 of those permits had more than one field move at once, which is why the 22 is the bigger number.
  • We hold 215,339 dated permit rows for this slice, across 10 sealed copies of the government's list dated 8 Aug 2026, 11 Aug 2026, 19 Aug 2026, 25 Aug 2026, 1 Sep 2026, 8 Sep 2026, 9 Sep 2026, 16 Sep 2026, 23 Sep 2026 and 30 Sep 2026. 21,596 permits sit on the newest one.
  • The collector's log holds 20 run records. 10 of those runs downloaded the file and sealed a copy. The rest either found nothing new or came back with nothing at all.
  • 21,596 permits of the 84,518 on the whole 30 Sep 2026 copy are importer permits.

Real rows out of our sealed copies

These are rows we read out of dated copies we keep ourselves. The live source shows today only, so once a row moves, what it said before is gone from the place you would go to look.

What this page cannot tell you

  • 13,137 of the 21,596 permits on the newest copy have no trading name. The government's own file leaves that box empty, so we cannot fill it. Those rows carry the permit number and the town and say the name is missing, rather than showing an empty cell as though it were a name.
  • A permit dropping off means it was on one dated copy and not on the next one. That is all it means. It is not proof that TTB revoked the permit, and it is not proof that the business closed: the government's file carries no issue date, no expiry date and no status, so nobody reading it can tell you why a row left, and we will not guess. We sealed our first copy on 8 Aug 2026, so anything that moved before that date is not in what we hold.
  • This page is one trade out of the 4 trades the government's file carries. A permit sits in exactly one of them, so nothing here is counted twice.
  • Town and county names arrive from the government in capital letters. We print them in ordinary mixed case. Nothing else about a row is changed.
  • We have read this file 10 times: 8 Aug 2026, 11 Aug 2026, 19 Aug 2026, 25 Aug 2026, 1 Sep 2026, 8 Sep 2026, 9 Sep 2026, 16 Sep 2026, 23 Sep 2026 and 30 Sep 2026. That is not enough to know how often it changes, so the 7-day figure on this page is what we promise to send you, not a rhythm we measured. Everything above is one of those copies compared with another.

See the file before you pay

You do not have to take our word for what is in the file. Here are 25 rows of the real thing, carrying all 8 of its columns, cut out of the dated copies we sealed ourselves. Nothing in it is made up and nothing in it is tidied up.

  • Open the 25 rows as a CSVA plain spreadsheet file. It saves to your machine rather than painting itself into a browser tab, and it opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
  • The same 25 rows as JSONThe same rows again, laid out for reading with code.

What arrives after you pay: Stripe sends you to the receipt page. After payment confirmation, your dated CSV for the state or territory selected at checkout appears there. Keep the receipt link for subsequent files. Nobody emails you. The subscriber CSV uses machine-readable column names and includes appeared, changed and gone rows, plus a coverage row naming the two source dates. The public preview uses shorter labels.

What you would be paying for: $99 a month, billed monthly, for one state or territory you name — not the national file. Cancel any month by email, with no account to close and no notice period. At checkout, choose one state or territory in the required Which state field. After your active payment is confirmed, the receipt page shows a dated CSV for that state. New source comparisons add dated files when available. Missing or invalid state input remains unassigned; email operations@ustechautomations.com to correct it.

These 25 rows are a slice of the file, not the whole of it. What we cannot show you here is how far back it goes: that is the part you are paying for.
