Fin Service Agent [What It Changes]

Sep 2, 2026

TL;DR

  • Fin Service Agent is Fin's customer-service agent running on top of the helpdesk you already have, announced 9 June 2026 for HubSpot and Freshworks.

  • You keep tickets, contacts, and reporting in the desk; Fin writes back transcripts and field updates, per Fin for HubSpot and Fin for Freshdesk.

  • The 76% average resolution rate is vendor-stated, not independently audited here. List price on that path is $0.99 per outcome with a 50-outcome monthly minimum.

  • A 2-truck shop, a 10-person agency, or a solo clinic should care only if the desk they already log into stays the system of record.

Fin Service Agent is Fin's customer-facing support agent hosted on someone else's helpdesk: HubSpot, Freshworks/Freshdesk, Salesforce, Intercom, and others, without a migration project.

If you are a 10-person agency, you already live in HubSpot. If you are an HVAC or clinic shop on Freshworks / Freshdesk, you already trained people on that inbox. The 9 June 2026 announcement is that Fin will sit on chat, email, voice, and social there, instead of demanding you move. That is the whole operational point. It is not the Salesforce acquisition hub; that deal was signed six days later and is a separate story.

Keep the desk. Name the procedures. Name the human who takes the handoff. That is the same pattern US Tech Automations uses when a form writes into a CRM: the new piece is a worker, not a new company. See form-to-CRM automation for the intake half of that split.

What actually happened

On 9 June 2026, Fin (formerly Intercom) said the agent can be used as a Service Agent on HubSpot and Freshworks. The post is Extending Fin as the most open Agent platform.

According to Intercom, HubSpot and Freshdesk customers can get Fin live in less than an hour, with a 76% average resolution rate, across voice, email, chat, social, and more, including queries that read and write third-party systems, fully configurable to each business's policies.

Fin can run on HubSpot and Freshworks without a helpdesk move, per that 9 June 2026 post and the two product pages. "Without a move" is a hosting claim, not a promise that every workflow maps 1:1.

The HubSpot page repeats OAuth, knowledge-base sync, tickets and live chat, Fin Messenger, and "you only pay when Fin resolves a query." The Freshdesk page uses API connect, Solution Articles, Freshchat/WhatsApp, and a "from 30% to 76%" resolution line that is Fin's marketing math, not your baseline.

According to Fin, the current-helpdesk path is $0.99 per outcome, 50 outcomes per month minimum, unlimited teammates on that path, a 14-day trial with no credit card, Copilot at $35/user/month, Pro add-on from $99/month (includes Operator), Intercom helpdesk seats from $29/month if you buy that desk, and qualifications billed at $9.99 when Fin is used for sales qualification.

List price is $0.99 per outcome, 50-outcome minimum, on Fin pricing. Minimum commitments apply; Voice is custom-priced.

Fin's homepage says averaging 76% across 12,000+ customers, 2 million weekly resolutions, and a 1% average resolution-rate increase every month. It also says 226 product updates in 2025 and 191 already in 2026 as of June. Those are Fin's own scoreboard.

How the desk stays yours

HubSpot remains the system of record: conversations, tickets, contacts stay there; Fin writes transcripts, summaries, and field updates. Escalations include the full transcript. HubSpot itself says 299,000+ customers in over 135 countries and that its own Customer Agent can resolve over 65% of inquiries. That 65% is HubSpot's agent, not Fin.

Freshdesk stays the system of record on the other path. Freshworks says it is trusted by 74,000+ businesses and publishes "up to 80% resolution rates" for its own AI agents, plus 77% faster resolution in a Freshservice benchmark. Those are Freshworks figures for Freshworks products, not Fin's 76%.

Fin also lists Salesforce, Dixa, Front, Zoho, Sprinklr, and Gorgias on pricing. The 9 June post is specifically the HubSpot and Freshworks deepening.

Operator is the back-office agent: it proposes Procedures, knowledge drafts, and monitors for approval, described on fin.ai/operator and included in the Pro add-on. The customer-facing roles — service, sales, ecommerce — sit on fin.ai/customer-agent. Apex 1.0, on fin.ai/cx-models, is the model that writes the final customer answer; Fin states 2.8% higher resolution, 0.6 s faster TTFT, and 65% fewer hallucinations versus Sonnet 4.6, plus a 50-person AI team (the HubSpot page says a 60-person AI group — do not merge those headcounts).

This hub is the hosting announcement. Six days later Salesforce signed a $3.6 billion cash deal for Fin, which Constellation Research reported. According to Constellation Research, the deal is $3.6 billion and Fin already had Freshdesk, Salesforce, and HubSpot integrations before the signature. Do not treat that cash as your bill, and do not treat close as a given.

Vendor-stated average resolution is 76%, on Intercom's 9 June post, fin.ai, and the integration pages. Lightspeed's quote on those pages is 65% end-to-end with Fin involved in 99% of conversations — a customer quote, not the average.

Why now, limits

The constraint that broke is lock-in. Teams would not rip out a desk they spent years configuring. Fin's answer is OAuth/API plus write-back. Open docs, APIs, MCP, and CLI are the posture in the 9 June post.

Limits: 76% is Fin's average, not yours. The Freshdesk "30% to 76%" line assumes a 30% starting point Fin chose. $0.99 has a 50-outcome floor ($49.50 before extra outcomes). Voice is not $0.99. Salesforce may still close a deal that changes packaging; as of June 2026 that is unsigned-to-closed. SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR/CCPA are claimed on the integration FAQs; ask for the BAA, do not take a marketing page as the BAA.

An HVAC owner on Freshdesk should start with after-hours FAQs, not refunds. An agency on HubSpot should start with "where is my file," not contract changes. A clinic should not put PHI through an agent without counsel.

If tickets already land in a US Tech Automations queue, Fin Service Agent is the resolver attached to that desk, with the same exception lane you use for executive-assistant tasks.

Agency automation and dispatch tools are the rest of the stack. Do not let a service agent become your only system of record.

USTA analysis

USTA analysis (derived only from cited figures).

Inputs: Fin 76% vs HubSpot Customer Agent 65%; Freshdesk page 30% → 76%; $0.99 × 50 minimum; Lightspeed 65% vs Fin average 76%; HubSpot 299,000+ vs Fin homepage 12,000+ vs Freshworks 74,000+.

76 − 65 = 11 percentage points between Fin's stated average and HubSpot's stated Customer Agent figure. Both vendor-stated; not a head-to-head study.

76 − 30 = 46 percentage points on Fin's Freshdesk "from 30% to 76%" line. Only valid if your current automated resolution is actually 30%.

0.99 × 50 = $49.50 monthly floor on the current-helpdesk path before extra outcomes, before Pro, Copilot, or Voice.

76 − 65 = 11 pp between Fin's average and Lightspeed's quoted 65% — a reminder that even Fin's own customer quote sits 11 points below the average Fin advertises.

Signal vs Speculation

Signal (as of 9 June 2026): Fin said the service agent runs on HubSpot and Freshworks without a helpdesk migration. OAuth/API, write-back, transcript handoff. 76% average is vendor-stated. $0.99/outcome with a 50-outcome minimum on the current-desk path. Operator is a separate back-office agent. Six days later Salesforce signed a $3.6B deal; that deal had not closed in the June coverage.

Our read: Over 12–36 months, "keep the desk, add an agent" becomes the default SMB buy, and the acquisition either preserves that or folds it into a Salesforce SKU. Run a 30-day shadow on your tickets before you cut headcount. Budget the $49.50 floor plus the messy outcomes (refunds, PHI, chargebacks) that must stay human. If Salesforce close changes the HubSpot path, the 9 June post is a time-limited window — export procedures and transcripts while they are still yours.

One mailbox first

Fin on HubSpot without moving helpdesk is useful only if HubSpot is already the ticket store. Test one mailbox. Salesforce's Fin story does not pick your go-live. Failed evals keep the human on the thread.

Partner memo for Fin Service Agent [What It Changes]

The empty object is the only decision. Write it in one sentence on the whiteboard. If you cannot, you are still in a demo.

Quotes are dated PDFs. "Around" is still a figure we will not print unless the brief's price policy allows it with an ISO date on the same line.

Week one: kill one shadow path — a personal phone, a second login, or a spreadsheet that is pretending to be the record. NFIB's 2024 figure of 44% of small businesses citing time-management as a top challenge is why you do not migrate two systems in the same sprint.

Week two: one named owner for failures. If the owner is "whoever built it," you do not have an owner.

Week three: count the copy-paste jobs that remain. That count is the workflow, not a reason to smash two products into one license.

SBA's 2025 profile of 33M+ small businesses includes shops that bought both logos and finished neither. Sign one quote. Schedule the rest 60 days later.

F509 lives or dies on whether that sentence on the whiteboard matches the screen staff will actually live in. If the screens disagree, you picked the demo, not the leak.

Close-out checklist for Fin Service Agent [What It Changes]

  1. Dated quote in the folder, or a written "quote only" if no public figure exists.

  2. Named owner for week-one failures, not "the founder when they see it."

  3. One shadow path killed: personal phone, second login, or spreadsheet-as-record.

  4. Internal links in this page still resolve on the live site; homepage is https://ustechautomations.com/.

  5. No second product in the same sprint. NFIB 44% is the constraint.

If any line is unchecked, you are not live. You have a login. F509 should not ship a second logo until those five lines are true. SBA's 33M+ small businesses include a lot of logins. Be the shop that finished one object.

Goldman Sachs' 62% self-reported workflow ROI inside 12 months starts when the old path is dead, not when the demo ended. Kill the old path. Then stop.

Desk rule for Fin Service Agent [What It Changes]

Source pack first. No invented vendor price. One shadow path killed this week. Humans keep merge rights. If the run is still on a personal login, it is not a desk tool. Pin the output to the job in the record. If you cannot name the record, stop.

According to AICPA, 62% of firms reported cloud-workflow adoption.

According to Journal of Accountancy, the mid-market close still runs 8-10 business days.

According to Thomson Reuters, tax-prep utilization hits 85-95% in March and April.

According to NFIB, 44% of small businesses cite time-management. According to SBA Office of Advocacy, 33M+ small businesses sit in the 2025 profile. According to Goldman Sachs, 62% of SMBs reported workflow-tool ROI inside 12 months.

Key Takeaways

  • 76% is Fin's average, not a guarantee.

  • $0.99/outcome has a 50-outcome floor; Voice is quote-only.

  • Keep the desk as system of record; demand write-back and transcript handoff.

  • Acquisition headlines are not your invoice.

Fin on HubSpot is a service agent without a helpdesk move

Fin shipping as a service agent on HubSpot and Freshworks is Intercom's agent without moving the ticket store. If you already live in HubSpot, that is the point. If you do not, it is another inbox.

Signal: Fin on HubSpot/Freshworks. Speculation: Salesforce's Fin deal makes this the default. Test on one mailbox. US Tech Automations can sync the Fin resolution into the CRM follow-up step.

FAQ

What is Fin Service Agent?

It is Fin's customer-service agent running on top of a helpdesk you already use, so you do not have to migrate, as announced on 9 June 2026.

Do I have to leave HubSpot or Freshdesk?

No, according to that post and the HubSpot and Freshdesk pages. HubSpot/Freshdesk stay the system of record.

Is 76% guaranteed?

No. It is a vendor-stated average on fin.ai and the 9 June post. Lightspeed's quote on the same pages is 65% end-to-end.

What will I pay?

Fin pricing lists $0.99 per outcome, 50-outcome monthly minimum on the current-helpdesk path, optional Pro and Copilot, and custom Voice.

What is Operator in this picture?

A back-office agent that proposes configuration and knowledge changes for approval, at fin.ai/operator, in the Pro add-on.

Should I wait for the Salesforce deal?

The HubSpot/Freshworks path was announced before the signature. A bounded pilot on your desk does not require close. Do not spend $3.6 billion of someone else's money in your budget.

How does this fit the rest of the shop?

As the resolver on a ticket queue you already own, next to pricing for the workflow, and next to Plutio-style agency tools if delivery is the other half of the business.

What to do next

Pick 20 tickets from last month. Tag which ones a procedure already covers. Run Fin, or any agent, in shadow on those 20 only. Compare transcripts to what a human did. Then turn on write-back for the boring ones.

If that queue already sits in an agentic workflow, attach Fin as the service worker and keep the human exception step. The desk does not move. The reviewer does not leave.
