Pros. The truck is the object. Location, engine, and safety events are the jobs the platform is sold to do. Maintenance and safety can work from the same feed. Hardware install is a documented project the vendor ecosystem knows how to staff.
Cons. It is not a TMS. Order entry, rating, and invoicing will not appear because you bought a device. Quote math is vehicles, devices, modules, and install — quote only. You will own the install calendar and the dual-run of whatever tracker you are leaving. A brokerage with no trucks should not buy this as a TMS substitute.
AscendTMS
Pros. The load is the object. Orders, dispatch, customer tracking, documents, and invoices sit in one operations system. Staff who already think in loads can live here without learning an ECU.
Cons. The truck is a pin you integrate, not a device you own. Safety coaching and engine diagnostics are not the center of the product. Conversion of historical loads, customers, and carrier records dominates the calendar. List price is not published.
Cutover work
The invoice is the smallest part of the switch, and this page will not invent that invoice.
