HubSpot Breeze Assistant Explained [What It Changes]
TL;DR
Definition: HubSpot Breeze Assistant is HubSpot's rebuilt go-to-market assistant, announced September 16, 2026 at its Unbound conference, that answers questions from CRM data, builds agents and drafts content in your brand voice (HubSpot Spotlight; Pulse 2.0).
What changed: The older assistant mostly answered questions. The rebuilt one can carry out a task such as a re-engagement campaign, and it brings in specialized HubSpot agents when a task needs them (diginomica).
Cost: HubSpot says the assistant is included with every subscription, but agent work draws on HubSpot Credits, which list at $0.010 each (HubSpot pricing).
Limits: HubSpot's performance multipliers are company-reported, and Agent Builder is still in public beta (Let's Data Science).
If you run a two-truck HVAC shop, a ten-person marketing agency, or a solo clinic, the September 2026 release looks like enterprise news. The question that matters for you is smaller: can someone on your team ask your own customer records a plain question and get an answer quickly enough to act on it? In an HVAC office, that means finding customers who have not been serviced in a year, or pulling the notes from the last visit before a dispatcher calls back. At a ten-person agency, it means reading an account's history before a client call and getting a first draft that sounds like that client. At a solo clinic, the issue is less about speed and more about what you are willing to put into a third-party system. We did not verify HubSpot's healthcare data terms for this article, so check them before any patient information goes near a CRM.
This is worth reading now because small firms are still behind. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 19.8% of businesses were using AI as of May 3, 2026. Under 20% of firms with four or fewer employees use AI. The Census release gives that group only a ceiling, not an exact figure, so treat it as the floor of the gap. HubSpot's own release also makes the data dependency explicit. Its Context Home feature "scores CRM context completeness and identifies data gaps," according to CMSWire, which means the assistant is only as useful as the records behind it.
What HubSpot shipped on September 16, 2026
HubSpot calls the release its Fall 2026 Spotlight. It was shown on September 16, 2026, the first day of UNBOUND, a Boston event that ran September 16 to 18 (Hacking Demand). The same post says the conference was renamed from INBOUND in April 2026, which explains why some coverage still uses the old name. Pulse 2.0 describes the rebuilt assistant as one that takes natural-language requests, selects specialized HubSpot agents and coordinates their work. A UNBOUND session titled "Breeze Assistant: A New Way to Work" followed on September 17, 2026, presented by HubSpot product leaders (UNBOUND).
HubSpot's Spotlight page lists the practical functions:
Campaign work: starting campaign plans, drafting nurture emails and creating landing pages from brand and campaign data.
Sales prep: summarizing deal status before meetings, and pulling support history before renewal calls.
Scheduled work: "Schedule any Breeze Assistant prompt to run on a recurring basis," with results appearing in chat (HubSpot Spotlight).
Email: drafting and replying to Gmail messages using HubSpot context.
Voice: hands-free mobile voice, which the page says is "Now in public beta."
Two companion pieces ship with it. Smart CRM captures and syncs calls, emails and meetings automatically (CMSWire). Marketing Studio pairs insights with campaign and content agents (Hacking Demand).
How the mechanism works, in plain language
Think of three layers.
Context. HubSpot calls its data foundation Growth Context, described as "a dynamic layer of business, customer and team data fueling AI-driven automation across the platform" (CMSWire). According to diginomica, the assistant and its agents review that context before doing any work.
Routing. You describe an outcome in plain language. The assistant decides which agent or agents are needed and hands them the job.
Work. Agents act inside HubSpot, and the result comes back to the chat. Some tasks take several exchanges. The diginomica reviewer found the assistant asks many clarifying questions, which is useful but means you still steer it.
For a small team, the practical sequence is: ask, answer its questions, review the draft, and only then let anything write to a record. HubSpot's help pages set the access boundaries. An admin has to turn on the setting that gives users access to Breeze Assistant (HubSpot knowledge base). Creating or customizing agents requires Super Admin or Agent Builder permission, and some agents need more, such as an agent that generates a landing page, which requires Edit and Publish permission (HubSpot knowledge base).
Why now: the constraints that changed
The release's own framing points to three constraints that moved.
Manual data entry. Smart CRM now captures calls, emails and meetings automatically, so the record an agent reads does not depend on a rep logging it (CMSWire). HubSpot says sales reps get the assistant "automatically, no setup required" (HubSpot Spotlight).
Setup work. Agent Builder can now draft an agent from a description. Breeze Assistant drafts a configuration with a goal, tools and knowledge sources, for testing or publication (Let's Data Science). That removes the technical build step a small team would otherwise need.
Per-seat pricing for agent work. Agent work is metered. According to CMSWire, HubSpot moved two existing agents to pay-per-result pricing in April 2026, at $1 per recommended lead for the Prospecting Agent and $0.50 per resolution for the Customer Agent.
Timeline and benchmarks
September 3, 2025: HubSpot's Fall 2025 release called Breeze Assistant "your AI companion that understands your business and works where you do," and claimed the Customer Agent "resolves 65%+ of conversations automatically" (MarketScreener, hosting HubSpot's release).
November 2025: The Census Bureau widened its AI question to ask about use "in any business function." The old wording asked about use "in producing goods or services" (U.S. Census Bureau).
April 2026: Pay-per-result pricing starts for two HubSpot agents (CMSWire).
April 23 to June 4, 2026: Census releases its AI supplement data. The questions ran from November 17, 2025 to February 8, 2026 (Census, May 7 release; Census, April 23 release).
September 16, 2026: Fall 2026 Spotlight launches at UNBOUND.
Census benchmarks for how far small firms have to go:
| Firm group (Census BTOS) | Share using AI | As of |
|---|---|---|
| All businesses | 19.8% | May 3, 2026 |
| Expecting to adopt within six months | 20–23% | May 2026 |
| 250 or more employees | 37% | May 3, 2026 |
| 100 to 249 employees | 32% | May 3, 2026 |
| Four or fewer employees | Under 20% | Through May 2026 |
Sources: U.S. Census Bureau, May 2026 analysis.
The Federal Reserve's note gives a second anchor. According to the Federal Reserve, about 18 percent of firms were using AI at the end of 2025. The same note says firms with 1 to 49 employees make up about 95% of firms but only about 27% of employment, which is why the small-firm question matters to the economy at large.
Pricing and plan facts
Pricing checked October 19, 2026: HubSpot's pricing page lists monthly HubSpot Credits of 500 on Starter, 3,000 on Professional and 5,000 on Enterprise. According to HubSpot's pricing page, credits cost $0.010 each, reset monthly, and unused credits do not roll over. HubSpot's list price is $0.010 per credit.
| Edition | Included HubSpot Credits per month | List price per credit |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 500 | $0.010 |
| Professional | 3,000 | $0.010 |
| Enterprise | 5,000 | $0.010 |
Sources: HubSpot pricing.
The plan rules are less clear than the marketing suggests. HubSpot's product page says Breeze Assistant is "included with every HubSpot subscription" and costs nothing extra (HubSpot Breeze Assistant). HubSpot's agents page says Agent Builder, formerly Breeze Studio, is included in Starter, Professional and Enterprise, and that Agent Hub is available to all three tiers (HubSpot agents). Let's Data Science reports that HubSpot says Agent Hub and Agent Builder require Professional or Enterprise plans (Let's Data Science). HubSpot's Spanish-language help article says creating agents or using workflows requires a Professional or Enterprise subscription (HubSpot knowledge base). We could not reconcile these from HubSpot's own pages. Confirm the tier in your portal before you budget for agents.
Credits behave differently by task. HubSpot Credits are required when an agent performs work, and the cost "vary[ies] by work complexity." Tests in the agent builder can run without consuming credits (HubSpot knowledge base). Workflows do not use credits (HubSpot agents).
USTA analysis: list price per credit
USTA analysis: to compare how credit meters price out, we used two published list rates. HubSpot's is $0.010 per credit. Salesforce's Agentforce pricing lists Flex Credits at $500 per 100,000 credits. According to Salesforce, that is the list rate for Flex Credits, which works out to $0.005 per credit.
| Measure | HubSpot | Salesforce Agentforce |
|---|---|---|
| List price per credit | $0.010 | $0.005 |
| Credits bought per $100 | 10,000 | 20,000 |
| Price per credit, relative to Salesforce | 2.0x | 1.0x |
USTA analysis. Inputs: HubSpot pricing ($0.010 per credit); Salesforce ($500 per 100,000 credits). Calculation: $500 ÷ 100,000 = $0.005; $0.010 ÷ $0.005 = 2.0; $100 ÷ $0.010 = 10,000; $100 ÷ $0.005 = 20,000.
On list price, a HubSpot credit costs twice as much as a Salesforce Flex Credit. The units are not equivalent, though. HubSpot says agent cost varies by work complexity, and Salesforce says an Agentforce action is 20 Flex Credits. So the ratio compares the currency, not the price of a task. A Starter team's 500 included credits are worth $5.00 at HubSpot's list rate, which is one number to test in a pilot before any budget decision.
Signal vs Speculation
What is demonstrated
The rebuilt assistant launched at UNBOUND on September 16, 2026, and coordinates specialized agents (Pulse 2.0; Hacking Demand).
Agent Builder and mobile voice are in public beta (HubSpot Spotlight; Let's Data Science).
HubSpot claims 2.7x more deals closed with Breeze Assistant. The product page gives 2.7x more deals closed, 4x more leads created, and 31% more tickets closed per service seat per month, but no methodology, time period or sample size (HubSpot Breeze Assistant).
According to diginomica, HubSpot says the assistant "helps generate 2.2x more leads," based on a study of customers in June and July 2026. That 2.2x figure does not match the 4x leads claim on HubSpot's product page. Treat both as company-reported.
Hacking Demand says the growth multipliers are not from a controlled experiment and should be treated as directional.
| Metric | Breeze Assistant product page | Growth Context release (Professional and Enterprise) |
|---|---|---|
| Deals | 2.7x closed | 3.2x won |
| Leads | 4x created | 3.6x MQLs |
| Tickets | 31% more per seat per month | More than 2x closed |
Sources: HubSpot Breeze Assistant; Pulse 2.0; Hacking Demand, which describes the Growth Context comparison as Professional and Enterprise customers with high-quality context against customers using no AI.
For the wider market, Gartner is more cautious. According to Gartner, more than 40 percent of agentic AI projects could be canceled by the end of 2027, citing escalating costs, unclear business value and inadequate risk controls. According to W.Media, Gartner estimates only about 130 of the thousands of agentic AI vendors are genuine.
Our read (12 to 36 months, small and mid-size businesses)
Our read: If completeness scoring like Context Home becomes standard in small-business tools, the constraint moves from "can the assistant do the task" to "is the record clean enough to trust." Teams with clean records will see value first. Teams without them will pay metered credit costs before any measurable benefit.
Our read: If pay-per-result and credit pricing spread, a ten-person agency's bill will track agent activity, not seat count. We expect that cost question to matter more to small firms than any single feature on the spotlight page.
Our read: If the Gartner cancellation pattern holds, many small pilots will end at the first budget review. If the vendor multipliers do not appear in a team's own pipeline, the likely outcome is cut spend, not expanded spend.
Our read: If the Census gap between firms with 250 or more employees and firms with four or fewer persists, small firms will adopt mostly through assistants bundled into tools they already use, rather than through custom agent builds. That is the path HubSpot's "no setup required" language points toward.
Where US Tech Automations fits
Teams already routing documents through US Tech Automations workflows can treat an assistant agent as one more step to swap in, not a rebuild. Start with one manual step, such as drafting a follow-up from a customer record, and leave every existing approval gate in place. The second piece is a human checkpoint in front of any agent that writes to a deal or contact record. Put that checkpoint where you would put it for any workflow step that changes a system of record. For a small team, the approval step is what keeps a pilot reversible.
For how a small team can stage AI access rather than switching everything on at once, see our SMB access rollout guide.
Key Takeaways
HubSpot Breeze Assistant is a rebuilt, task-capable assistant introduced in HubSpot's Fall 2026 Spotlight, announced September 16, 2026.
The "included with every subscription" claim sits alongside a metered credit system, listed at $0.010 per credit.
Plan requirements for agents conflict across HubSpot's own pages, so confirm the tier in your portal.
The performance multipliers are company-reported and do not yet have independent controls.
The safest first test is one agent on one repeatable task, with a human approval step before any record changes.
Frequently asked questions
What is HubSpot Breeze Assistant?
HubSpot Breeze Assistant is HubSpot's conversational assistant, rebuilt in the Fall 2026 Spotlight to answer questions from CRM data, build agents and carry out tasks such as campaign setup and reports (Pulse 2.0; diginomica).
Is HubSpot Breeze Assistant included in every plan?
HubSpot's product page says Breeze Assistant is "included with every HubSpot subscription," but agent runs use HubSpot Credits, and HubSpot's pages describe the tiers that can build agents differently (HubSpot Breeze Assistant; HubSpot agents).
What does it cost to run agents?
Agent runs draw on HubSpot Credits. According to HubSpot's pricing page, Starter includes 500 credits a month, Professional 3,000 and Enterprise 5,000, at $0.010 per credit.
Are HubSpot's performance numbers reliable?
Not yet. According to HubSpot's product page, Breeze Assistant customers close 2.7x more deals on average, but the page gives no methodology, time period or sample size, and Hacking Demand calls the comparisons directional.
Should a solo clinic put patient data into it?
Not until you have checked the vendor's data terms. We did not verify HubSpot's healthcare data terms for this article, so the answer depends on those terms and on your own compliance obligations.
What is Growth Context?
Growth Context is HubSpot's name for the layer of business, customer and team data that the Fall 2026 release says fuels AI-driven automation across the platform (CMSWire).
