5 Magaya Alternatives for Small Freight Forwarders in 2027
Key Takeaways
Magaya publishes no prices, so any Magaya comparison starts with a quote rather than a list price.
Two cost models matter: per-seat tiers (ShipThis, Logitude, Linbis) and per-job billing (CargoWise Value Packs). Per-job cost rises with every booking.
The lowest per-seat list price we found belongs to Logitude's Smart tier, which does not list CRM access and does not list API access.
GoFreight and Magaya publish no prices, and the Enterprise tiers at ShipThis, Logitude and Linbis are quote-based as well.
TL;DR: Compare cost per shipment and the scope you need, then request quotes from the vendors who hide their prices.
The category decision comes before the vendor
Replacing Magaya is a category decision first. A forwarding management system is the single record where a shipment's quote, booking, documents, customs data and invoice live together. If your team needs that record, you are choosing among forwarding systems. If you only need to compare carrier rates, a rate-management tool solves a narrower problem and sits beside a forwarding system rather than replacing one.
The second decision is the pricing model. Per-seat plans cost the same in a slow month and a busy one. Per-job plans scale with volume, so a low headline rate can become the larger bill. Neither model is cheaper by default. The right one depends on how many people use the system and how many jobs they book.
How we evaluated these tools
This is an informed buyer's guide built from public information. We opened each vendor's own pricing page where one exists, checked independent listings and trade sources for the same claims, and scored six criteria. We did not run any of these products. Every price below comes from a page we opened on the date shown, and the weights describe what a small forwarder needs to decide, not a vendor ranking.
| Criterion | Weight | Why it counts for a small forwarder |
|---|---|---|
| Scope: quoting, booking, customs and invoicing | 25% | Magaya is a system of record, so its replacement has to cover the same jobs |
| Pricing model fit to your volume | 20% | Per-seat and per-job costs move in opposite directions as volume changes |
| Published price clarity | 15% | A price you can read before a sales call shortens budgeting |
| Integration and export evidence | 15% | Data has to leave the system for reporting, invoicing and automation |
| Implementation and migration burden | 15% | Setup fees, training and cutover risk shape the first-year cost |
| Currency of evidence | 10% | Recent listings and stated trial terms are worth more than stale reviews |
The most concrete posted price in this set is Logitude's Smart tier: Smart tier: $75 per user per month according to Logitude (2026). We weight price clarity at 15% rather than higher because a posted number helps budgeting but says nothing about whether the system covers your jobs.
We dropped four names from the starting set. Cargoes returned no relevant results in our search. Expedock appeared only as a directory entry. NuevaFlo's domain did not resolve when we tried to open it. Freightify describes a rate-management product, and its pricing page links to a separate page we could not read.
Five alternatives, side by side
The table below separates published facts from our reading. Where a page we opened does not say something, the cell reads "Not stated."
| Product | Published price | Pricing unit | Customs or accounting in scope | Integration or add-on note | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CargoWise | Yes, per job | Per shipment, entry or container | Yes, forwarding and customs packs | Not checked | Not stated |
| GoFreight | No, quote-based | Not stated | Not stated | Container tracking is an add-on | Demo only; no trial terms |
| Linbis | Yes, two tiers | Per month, by tier | Not stated | Not stated | Yes, Startup and Premium |
| ShipThis | Yes, one tier | Per user per month | Freight accounting listed | Track and Trace, Trade Messaging and eAWB billed per use | 30 days, no card |
| Logitude | Yes, two tiers | Per user per month | Not stated | API limited on Professional, included on Enterprise | Not stated |
| Magaya (reference) | No, quote-based | Custom | Customs product listed | Not checked | Not stated |
Our read, which is analysis rather than a published fact: the posted seat prices make ShipThis and Linbis the easiest to budget for small teams. CargoWise has the broadest published scope and the most complex pricing.
What published prices show, and what they hide
Pricing checked October 29, 2026. Four vendors publish some tier or per-job price on the pages we opened. GoFreight and Magaya publish none and route buyers to a quote.
The Forwarding pack on CargoWise costs $19.95 per FCL or FTL import shipment and $13.30 per LCL, LTL, air or non-FCL import shipment, according to CargoWise (2026). The same list shows export rates of $12.75 and $8.35 per shipment and a customs pack at $9.95 per import formal procedure.
ShipThis lists one tier: Standard plan: $89 per user per month according to ShipThis (2026). The page says that tier covers all modules, and it bills Track and Trace, Trade Messaging and eAWB submission per transaction with no prices posted. A Spotsaas listing shows $49 per user per month billed yearly and a five-user minimum on its Lite plan, according to Spotsaas (2026), so the figure you are quoted may differ from the vendor's page. Confirm which one applies.
Logitude's page shows a monthly and annual toggle without separate annual prices in the text we read, so confirm the billing basis before you budget.
| Vendor | Plan or pack | Published list price | Billing basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| CargoWise | Forwarding pack, FCL or FTL import | $19.95 | Per shipment |
| CargoWise | Forwarding pack, LCL, LTL, air or non-FCL import | $13.30 | Per shipment |
| CargoWise | Customs pack, import formal procedure | $9.95 | Per procedure |
| GoFreight | Custom quote | Quote-based | Not stated |
| Linbis | Startup | $150 | Per month, one user |
| Linbis | Premium | $299 | Per month, three users |
| Linbis | Enterprise | Quote-based | Quote |
| ShipThis | Standard, all modules | $89 | Per user per month |
| ShipThis | Enterprise | Quote-based | Custom |
| Logitude | Smart | $75 | Per user per month |
| Logitude | Professional | $99 | Per user per month |
| Logitude | Enterprise | Quote-based | 30 or more users |
| Magaya | Custom plan | Quote-based | Custom |
Here is a worked example, illustrative rather than a quote. Take a six-person office that books 120 FCL import jobs a month. On ShipThis's published Standard price, six users cost $534 a month ($89 × 6), or $6,408 a year, before any per-use add-ons. On CargoWise, the Forwarding pack alone costs $2,394 a month (120 × $19.95), or $28,728 a year, before customs entries and other packs. The gap is $1,860 a month, or $22,320 a year. The two products do not cover the same scope, so treat this as a budgeting check rather than a verdict. The CRM trigger in the proposed workflow below could also fire on HubSpot's ASSOCIATION_ADDED action, listed in the HubSpot webhooks reference. Every duplicate job that a retried trigger creates would add a charge on a per-job bill, so the trigger design affects cost.
Vendor-by-vendor: fit, limits and evidence
CargoWise: broadest scope, per-job billing
Best fit: customs-heavy forwarders with several offices that can absorb per-job fees and a longer rollout. The CargoWise FAQ says notified customers' subscriptions "automatically transitioned on 1 December 2025" and that its "standard policy is not to switch back or delay the change." About 95% of customers are on the model: Customers on the per-job model: about 95% according to CargoWise (2026). Forwarding and stand-alone customs fees appear on customer invoices by default as a disbursement labelled "CargoWise Automation Fee," and you can book the fee as an expense instead.
FTA reported on 19 January 2026 that members with a special offer see a monthly "Transitional Pricing Protection" line calculated as "STL – CVP = TPP," with no forecast end date, according to FTA (2026). That update contains no dollar amounts, so ask for any such arrangement in writing.
GoFreight: quote-led option
Best fit: forwarders ready for a sales call who want container tracking in scope. The vendor's pricing page says "A short conversation helps us understand your needs and share a clear pricing overview, without any obligation," according to GoFreight (2026). Limits: a SoftwareConnect review lists "Pricing details not provided by the developer" among its cons, notes that container tracking is a standalone module or add-on, and mentions errors after updates. Its user reviews are dated January 2021, so ask for a demo of the current version.
Linbis: posted tiers for small teams
Best fit: small teams that want posted tiers and a warehouse module. The pricing page lists Premium as covering three users and adding inventory and warehouse management: Premium tier: $299 per month for three users according to Linbis (2026). The page also states a free trial with no credit card for Startup and Premium, and Enterprise is quote-based. Limit: a SoftwareConnect review lists the Startup tier at $150 a month for one user, according to SoftwareConnect (2026), yet reports Linbis saying all pricing figures require a sales call. That conflicts with the posted tiers, so get the figure in writing before you budget.
ShipThis: one per-user price, all modules
Best fit: small teams that want one per-user price, every module and a trial without a card. The pricing page says the Standard plan includes shipment and freight management, CRM, tariffs and rates, quotation, freight accounting and warehouse management. The trial runs 30 days with no card, and the page offers annual or quarterly payment. Limits: setup fees depend on configuration, Enterprise is custom, and the per-use add-ons are unpriced on the page. The $49 listing discrepancy is covered in the pricing section above.
Logitude: quoting and CRM with tiered API access
Best fit: teams that want quoting and CRM together and can use a higher tier for integrations. The posted Smart and Professional tiers appear in the table above, and the Enterprise tier is custom for 30 or more users. The Logitude pricing page marks rate management as "Coming Soon" on every tier. The API is not listed on Smart, is limited on Professional and is included on Enterprise. Document AI and carrier connections such as e-AWB, INTTRA, container status and spot rates are paid add-ons. Some workflow triggers, including REST API, email, FTP and webhook, need at least five users.
Magaya: the reference point
Best fit: teams already on Magaya that need a renewal quote to benchmark the alternatives. Magaya's listing shows custom pricing and asks buyers to "Get your personalized Magaya pricing quote today," according to Softwarefinder (2026), last updated July 2, 2026. Limit: with no published tier, a Magaya renewal has no list-price benchmark. Compare its quote against the scope and per-job figures above, not against a headline seat price.
Which alternative fits which buyer
| Vendor | Choose it if | Walk away if |
|---|---|---|
| CargoWise | You run customs-heavy, multi-office operations and can model per-job fees | You need a fixed monthly seat budget |
| GoFreight | You are ready for a sales call and want container tracking in scope | You need a published price before any call |
| Linbis | Your team is small and you want posted tiers, with warehouse management on Premium | The posted tiers are not confirmed in writing |
| ShipThis | You want one per-user price, all modules and a trial without a card | Your usage depends on per-use add-ons you have not priced |
| Logitude | You want quoting and CRM together and can use a higher tier for integrations | You need rate management now, since the page marks it Coming Soon |
| Magaya | You already run it and need a renewal quote to benchmark | You need a published list price |
When NOT to use US Tech Automations: skip the automation layer if one forwarding system already covers quotes, bookings and invoices and your team is comfortable with its native workflows. Skip it when shipment volume is low enough that manual entry is quicker than a configured design. Skip it when the only need is a customs filing, which a licensed broker or the system's own filing module can cover.
Where switching breaks: quotes, jobs and invoices
Proposed workflow one, configurable and not live: a shipment is linked to a customer deal in the CRM, which fires a trigger, and a US Tech Automations design would copy the accepted rate, origin, destination and mode into a draft job in the forwarding system. The trigger is the CRM association event, which HubSpot's webhooks reference documents. The output is a draft shipment and a list of missing fields for the operations lead. Prerequisites: an API or CSV export that the chosen system exposes, a test environment, and named approvers. Logitude's API is limited on Professional and included only on Enterprise, so a Smart or Professional buyer should check export options first. Human review point: an operations lead approves the draft before it becomes a booking, because a mistyped rate becomes a bill.
Proposed workflow two, configurable and not live: at month end, a job export lists closed jobs with their billing lines. The workflow matches each line to the rate for its job type on the vendor's current price list and flags pass-through lines such as the CargoWise Automation Fee on forwarding invoices. The output is a reconciliation sheet for finance, with exceptions sorted by customer. Prerequisites: a transaction-level export with job type and mode, and a copy of the vendor's current rate table. Human review point: finance decides whether each flagged fee is disbursed to the customer or booked as an expense, a choice the CargoWise FAQ offers.
Stitching it together versus a managed design
Zapier, Make and n8n can run both flows. Configured well, they keep run histories, retries and error branches, and they leave an audit trail. The work that remains is yours: making job creation idempotent so a retried trigger does not create a second job, routing failed rate lookups to a person, controlling who holds the forwarding system's API keys, and maintaining the flow when either API changes. A US Tech Automations design would set those pieces explicitly, with run logs tied to each shipment ID, a review queue for rate and billing exceptions, and named escalation owners. Those are configurable choices that need the same API or export access described above. None of them is a delivered result.
Who this is for
Owners and operations leads at small forwarders who must renew or replace Magaya in the next budget cycle and want a shortlist they can price before a demo.
Red flags: you cannot export shipments from your current system, nobody is named to approve rate and billing exceptions, or you expect software to make customs classification decisions for you.
Decision checklist
Price each option per shipment across your last three months of volume, not only per seat.
Ask every quote-based vendor for its scope in writing: modules, add-ons, implementation and migration fees.
Confirm whether the posted tiers at Linbis and Logitude are current, and which billing basis they use.
Ask for an export file or API documentation before you sign anything.
Get trial length and card requirements in writing. ShipThis states 30 days with no card. Linbis does not state a length.
Name the person who approves rate changes and pass-through billing before go-live.
Frequently asked questions
Does Magaya publish a price?
No. Magaya's pricing is custom and buyers must request a quote, so its list price cannot sit beside the alternatives.
Which alternative has the lowest published per-seat price?
Logitude's Smart tier at $75 per user per month is the lowest per-seat list price we found, but it does not list CRM access and does not list API access.
Does per-job billing cost more for a small forwarder?
It depends on volume. At 120 FCL import jobs a month, the CargoWise Forwarding pack alone comes to $2,394, against $534 for six ShipThis seats in the worked example above.
Which vendors offer a free trial?
ShipThis lists a 30-day trial with no card, and Linbis lists a free trial with no card for its Startup and Premium tiers. GoFreight offers a demo, and its pricing page gives no trial terms. Logitude's pricing page does not state one.
Does the Value Pack model change what I bill customers?
For forwarding jobs, the CargoWise FAQ says the fee appears on customer invoices by default as a disbursement labelled "CargoWise Automation Fee," and you may book it as an expense instead.
Pick the shortlist you can price this week
Start with the pricing model. If you need published tier prices, ShipThis and Logitude post them, and Linbis does too, with a sales-call caveat. If a quote is the only route, ask GoFreight and Magaya for written quotes with the same scope, and get trial terms in writing from every vendor. If you want to see how a proposed workflow would be configured around the system you pick, see how US Tech Automations configures this.
