Otterly AI Alternatives 2026
TL;DR: Otterly AI is a tool for watching how a brand appears in AI search answers. If you are comparing it with other options, the useful question is not which one is best in general. It is which engines you need covered, how you want citations and competitors shown, and how you want to pay. This guide describes Otterly AI, then compares six alternatives, starting with SE Ranking, and ends with a checklist.

Key takeaways
Start with your engines. Some tools cover a handful of AI platforms, others cover a long list. Pick the ones your customers actually use.
Prompts are the unit of work. Every tool here has you supply questions a buyer might ask, then checks the AI answers. Prompt limits and what counts as a prompt shape the real cost.
Citations tell you what to fix. A score tells you where you stand. The list of cited pages and domains tells you what to do next.
Pricing is published in different ways. Some vendors list plans, some list a starting price, some list none. We show only what we could read on the vendor's own page.
Otterly's base plans cover four engines. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are paid add-ons there, so check what your engine list really costs on each tool.
About Otterly AI
OtterlyAI is a tool for monitoring how a brand shows up in AI search answers. Its pricing page says every plan tracks four engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are listed as extra add-ons. Tracking runs daily, and every plan includes brand visibility and sentiment analysis, citation source tracking, brand profiling and recommendations.
The plans are priced by search prompts. Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts. Standard is $189 a month for 100 prompts and adds API access, MCP access and agent analytics. Premium is $489 a month for 400 prompts. Enterprise is custom and starts from 1,000 prompts. On Standard and Premium, 100 extra prompts cost $99. Its public API documentation says the API gives access to brand reports, prompts, citations and agent analytics.
That is a clear, low entry price. Every alternative below does some version of the same job. They differ in how many engines they include, how they price, and what else they sit next to.
Why people look for an alternative
We won't guess at complaints. The reasons people compare are usually practical:
A different engine list. You need an engine the tool does not cover, or you want one tool across many.
A different way of buying. You want published plans, or a price tied to something else, such as a platform you already pay for.
A different job. You want tracking inside an SEO suite, or tracking plus recommendations.
Reporting needs. You need exports, a dashboard connector or an API in a particular shape.
How we evaluated these tools
Our team evaluated each tool from its vendor's own public pages, and this guide describes what they say. Nothing here is a test result or a performance ranking. We looked at which engines are named, how citations and sources are shown, whether competitors can be compared, and how pricing is published. Every price below is what the vendor's page showed on 2 November 2026. Prices change, so confirm before you buy.
| Tool | Best fit | Strengths | Watch-outs |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE Ranking | Teams that want AI tracking inside an SEO platform | Four-engine AI visibility tracker, dedicated AI Mode tracker, source data, free trial | Pages name five engines and not Claude or Copilot |
| Peec AI | Marketing teams that want an AI-search-only tool with published plans | Plans listed from $95 a month, CSV, Looker Studio and API | Prompt counts are capped by plan |
| Ahrefs Brand Radar | Teams already on Ahrefs | Six surfaces named, custom prompts or pre-collected index | Prices in pounds, not given for every tier |
| Rankscale | Teams that want many engines at a low entry price | 17+ engines, plans from $99 a month | Breadth over depth for a team that needs one engine |
| AthenaHQ | Teams that want tracking and recommendations | Suggests what to fix, free tier | Several engines are paid-plan only |
| Profound | Larger teams that want monitoring plus content and agent features | Wide engine list, prompt volumes, agent analytics | No prices on the page we read |
The alternatives
1. SE Ranking
Best for: teams that want AI search tracking inside an SEO platform they may already use.
SE Ranking's AI visibility tracker covers four engines. Its FAQ says the toolkit analyzes answers generated by ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode and AI Overviews. It describes brand mention and link tracking across those engines, competitor monitoring (up to five competitors in the free checker), source data showing which domains and URLs appear in AI answers, cached copies of AI answers that show how engines describe a brand, and historical data for tracking change over time.
It has a second page for Google's AI Mode on its own. The AI Mode tracker page says it finds the domains and URLs Google pulls into AI Mode responses for your tracked prompts, lets you filter by country and language, and reports brand mentions, links, average position trends and traffic potential. SE Ranking's toolkit page also names Perplexity among the engines it covers.
On cost of trying it, the page says you can start a free trial with no credit card required, describes it as a free 14-day trial, and offers a free AI visibility checker with five checks a day.
Where it falls short: the AI pages we read name five engines and do not name Claude or Copilot, so a team that needs those should ask. The AI features also sit inside a wider SEO platform, so if you want only AI monitoring, check whether you are paying for more than you need. The feature pages do not show prices. The plans page lists the current subscription tiers, and how AI tracking is split between plans and add-ons is worth confirming with SE Ranking.
2. Peec AI
Best for: marketing teams that want a tool built only for AI search, with plans listed openly.
Peec AI describes itself as an AI search analytics platform for marketing teams. You set up prompts, add the brands you want to compare, and the tool shows the sources that AI answers cite, such as review sites, LinkedIn, Reddit and editorial domains. It also offers CSV exports, a Looker Studio connector and an API.
Its pricing page lists Starter at $95 a month with 50 prompts, Pro at $245 a month with 150 prompts and Advanced at $495 a month with 350 prompts. Enterprise is custom. The three standard plans list ChatGPT, AI Mode, AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Perplexity appears under Enterprise.
Where it does not fit: a team that wants AI tracking inside a wider SEO suite will run two tools. Count your prompts before choosing a plan, since the caps are part of the price.
3. Ahrefs Brand Radar
Best for: teams already working in Ahrefs.
Ahrefs describes Brand Radar as a way to track and grow brand visibility across AI answers. The page says it tracks mentions and citations, benchmarks you against competitors and monitors sentiment. It names AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, with Claude available for custom prompts.
It offers two methods. Custom Prompts uses your own buyer questions. The AI Visibility Index uses pre-collected responses for any brand. The page shows prices in pounds, with Custom Prompts starting at 40 pounds a month and the AI Visibility Index at 159 pounds a month, and says prompt tracking is free on every paid Ahrefs Lite plan and above. It does not give prices for every tier.
Where it does not fit: if you do not use Ahrefs already, you are adding a platform. Find out which tracking method matches your question before you compare costs.
4. Rankscale
Best for: teams that want to watch many engines at a low starting price.
Rankscale says it tracks brand visibility across 17 or more engines. Its page names Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Muse Spark, Gemini, Claude, Copilot and DeepSeek, and its FAQ also names Mistral and xAI Grok. It reports mentions, rankings, citations and sentiment, and offers page audits.
The page says plans start at $99 a month and scale to $780 a month for Enterprise, with Pro at $99, Pro+ at $229, Growth at $385 and Enterprise at $780.
Where it does not fit: a long engine list is no help if only two engines matter to your buyers. You would pay for coverage you do not use.
5. AthenaHQ
Best for: teams that want tracking and suggested fixes together.
AthenaHQ calls itself the command center for AEO and GEO, meaning optimizing for answer engines and generative engines. It tracks how a brand appears across AI platforms, shows where visibility is rising or falling, and recommends what to fix. The free Essential plan lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Paid plans add Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI.
The page lists Essential as free with credits and Starter at $295 a month, with annual billing shown at 17 percent off. Enterprise is custom, and API access and extra credits are paid add-ons on top of Starter.
Where it does not fit: if AI Mode matters to you, the free tier will not cover it. Ask how quickly your prompts use up credits.
6. Profound
Best for: larger teams that want monitoring plus content and workflow features.
Profound presents itself as an AI marketing platform for visibility in AI search. Its homepage lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek and Google AI Overviews. Its monitoring side includes Answer Engine Insights, Prompt Volumes, Shopping visibility in ChatGPT, Agent Analytics on how bots view and cite your pages, FactCheck, Sentiment and Benchmarking. It also describes an AI Marketer that identifies work, drafts it and asks for approval, and enterprise features including SOC 2 support and more than 200 integrations.
The page has a Pricing link but states no prices in the text we read, so ask the vendor.
Where it does not fit: a small team that only wants to know whether its brand appears in answers may find a platform with content and workflow features more than it needs. The text we read also does not name Google AI Mode.
Questions to ask about price
Make each vendor answer the same five questions so the quotes compare:
What does the price scale with? Prompts, credits, engines, markets or seats.
Which engines are in the plan I am pricing? Some are paid-plan or add-on only.
How often do prompts run? Daily and weekly checks give different pictures.
What is the overage rate for extra prompts?
What can I export? CSV, API and dashboard connectors matter if your reporting lives elsewhere.
Weigh the answers against what you spend now. If someone pastes AI answers into a spreadsheet each week, that time is the budget the software competes with.
Who this is for
This is for marketing and SEO teams, agencies and in-house owners who have been asked whether their brand shows up when customers ask an AI. It also suits teams already using one tool and wondering whether a different engine list, price model or companion platform would fit better. It is not needed for a business with little search presence to protect.
Decision checklist
Write twenty buyer questions first. Run the same list through every trial.
List the engines you need. Cross out any tool that does not name them.
Ask to see citations. You want pages and domains, not only a score.
Check competitor limits. How many rivals can you add, and are they included?
Check the reporting. Exports, dashboards and API access decide how much manual work remains.
Read the price terms. Prompt caps, credits, overages and renewal terms.
Price your full engine list on Otterly too. If you need AI Mode, Claude or Gemini, add those add-ons to its plan price before you compare.
Frequently asked questions
What does Otterly AI do?
It monitors how a brand shows up in AI search answers. Its plans track ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini as add-ons, and include citation tracking, sentiment and recommendations.
Is there a free alternative?
Some vendors offer a free tier or trial. AthenaHQ lists a free Essential plan, and SE Ranking offers a free 14-day trial with no credit card required and a free checker with five checks a day. Free options come with limits, so read them.
Which alternative covers the most engines?
Of the vendors here, Rankscale says it covers 17 or more engines. More is not always better. Choose by the engines your customers use.
Do these tools show which pages AI answers cite?
Most describe some form of source or citation data. SE Ranking, Peec AI, Ahrefs and Rankscale all mention citations or sources on their pages. Ask for a live look at how each one shows them.
Are the prices in this guide current?
They are what each vendor's page showed on 2 November 2026, and where we could not read a price we say so. Confirm before you buy.
The bottom line
If you want AI search tracking next to ordinary SEO work, SE Ranking is the first alternative to look at, with a four-engine AI visibility tracker, a separate AI Mode tracker and a free trial. Peec AI suits an AI-search-only team that wants listed plans. Ahrefs Brand Radar suits teams already in Ahrefs. Rankscale suits a team that wants many engines at a low entry price. AthenaHQ suits a team that wants recommendations as well as tracking, and Profound suits a larger team that wants content and workflow features on top.
Pick two, run the same twenty questions through both, and compare what each says about you. You can start with SE Ranking's free trial, with no credit card required, by opening its AI visibility tracker.
