Actions remain subject to human oversight and existing governance, per Epicor. Prism is designed to operate on the customer’s own ERP data and respect role-based security. That is a product claim about control, not an independent audit.

How the mechanism works

Staff stay in Kinetic or Prophet 21. They type or speak a question against live orders, inventory, shipments, or attached files. The constraint was not “ERP lacks data.” Kinetic and Prophet 21 already store orders, MRP output, shipments, and AP files. The constraint was that turning those records into an answer required a specialist, a saved report, or a customization queue.

Epicor’s LATAM copy says manufacturers and distributors face pressure to raise productivity while managing volatile supply chains, skills challenges, and a changing technology environment. That is vendor framing. The labor market around it is measurable.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics manufacturing snapshot, U.S. factories employed 12,611,000 people in July 2026 (preliminary, seasonally adjusted), with 8,749,000 production and nonsupervisory employees, a 2.9% unemployment rate for the sector that month, 608,000 job openings (preliminary), and average hourly earnings of $36.87 for all employees. Data on that page were extracted 1 September 2026.

According to the National Association of Manufacturers, U.S. manufacturing GDP is $2.89 trillion, with 13 million in manufacturing employment, 244,000 manufacturing business units, average annual earnings for manufacturing workers of $98,846, and 529,000 manufacturing job openings as of May 2026. If build-and-test time for a customization falls by 60%, remaining time is 40% of the old baseline. Throughput on a fixed budget of IT hours is 1 ÷ 0.40 = 2.5×. A team that used to ship four screen changes in a quarter could, on that arithmetic, ship ten of the same-sized changes in the same hours — if the 60% holds, if queue wait is the scarce resource, and if “same-sized” remains true.
